The majestic building of the school is situated at the prime location, with the market in its vicinity. Yet, it is a haven of peace and quiet, conducive to providing excellent education.
For the all-round development of the students, providing quality education with modern technology and latest infrastructure, South Eastern Railway has merged the Higher Secondary Sections of all the Railway School of Kharagpur .
The motto behind the merging is to make the school a model Railway school in India, with a sufficient number of faculty members, digital facilities, library and well-equipped laboratory, games and sports, green campus, water harvesting, solar panels, etc. Skill development classes have also been introduced in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Vision and Mission.
The school aspires to be a model School among the Railway schools of Kharagpur Division, under the able guidance of the mentors of the school – Mrs. Zarina Firdausi , Principal Chief Personnel Officer/ S.E.Rly/GRC, Sri Manoranjan Pradhan, Hon’ble Divisional Railway Manager/S.E.Rly/KGP, and Sri. Shreerangam Haritash, Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer/ S.E.Rly/KGP and Controlling Officer of the school.
This school is the Higher Secondary wing of all the Railway Schools of the town. It was so conceived that the schooling of the students culminate here with a resounding applause, in “Excellence”.
The renovated school building was inaugurated by the-then General Manager, S.E.Railway, Sri Poornendu Mishra on 29th January, 2019. Thus it paved the way for the fulfilment of the dream project of providing state of the art school, in Kharagpur. This School, though in it’s infancy, has made many heads turn and feet approach it, in spite of the stiff competition provided by the new international schools and other private schools of the town.
The management as well as the crew of faculty, with the captain of the ship, the Principal, have since been working hard to make the dream come true. We can proudly say that this school is a melting pot where students from various schools, Boards, Mediums and backgrounds have joined.
At present there are three sections for each stream i.e Science, Commerce and Arts. The first batch is to appear for the CBSE Class XII Examinations, in the year 2021. The school faculty, under the able guidance of the Railway Administration is all poised to grapple with the extraordinary crisis of the covid-19 pandemic and have been guiding the students through On-Line Classes.
With a view to encourage sports and co-curricular activities, the students are given ample opportunities to participate in various tournaments, co-curricular activities. Last year, our school hosted an All India Railway Schools Table Tennis Tournament. Besides this, students were given training in Billiards too. All the year round, the school was buzzing with various activities.
Here is hoping that the students who leave the portals of this institution are well-equipped to face the challenges of the various Entrance Examinations and plant themselves in highly coveted institutions, to further their career and become persons of mighty renown across the world.
